Sleepwalking (somnambulism)
is not a very popular issue yet we all heard about it. Sleepwalking is when a
person gets out of his or her bed walk here and there, and do some activities, while
still in a sleeping state and while their eyes are open.
Unlike what you see in the movies in
which a person walks while being sleep with her arms extended horizontally. But
the real sleep walking is with the arms by the sides without any pose. Sleep
walking people don’t remember a thing after they wake up, and they have no idea
about When, where and what they did at that time. Sleepwalking is an issue that
consists in the individual getting up and doing an action while still asleep.
Causes of sleepwalking
Psychological disorders: panic attack
and anxiety can lead to sleepwalking
Disease: fever, nighttime asthma, obstructive
sleep apnea (breathings is disrupted during sleep)
Alcohol consumption and the use of some
drugs (alcohol induced sleepwalking)
Though this is not a harmful issue, but
it may lead to accidents and really necessary to know the reason behind it to
resolve it.
The psychologist may solve this issue by
adopting preventive measures and change any leading habits that might caused
this issue and the use of hypnosis and anti depressant. As we said earlier the problem is not in sleepwalking in self but it
is in what can lead to, and it may lead to bad things. Sometimes sleepwalking
is accompanied with aggresive behaviors that can harm the sleepwalking
individual or any one close to him/her.
Almost all the adult
